Compound Specific Isotope Analysis (CSIA)

The CSIA laboratory provides isotopic characterization of individual compounds. We currently offer analysis of stable carbon, chlorine and/or hydrogen isotopes for many different contaminants of concern. The isotopic data can be used to:

• Prove biodegradation is occurring
• Identify mechanisms of degradation
• Determine the rate and extent of degradation
• Establish multiple sources of contamination
